should lichess add a feature to change username?

if they add it they must change every player's google search and it takes a very long time, I agree to @Viohl

should lichess add a feature to change username?

Its not possible.
For reasons use Google search.

@Viohl , i searched on my brother google and he said:

Lichess should not add a full username-changing feature because it conflicts with how the site's database is built and creates community confusion.

Technical Reasons

Primary Keys: The platform was built with the username functioning as the core primary key in the backend database.

Data Integration: Usernames are hardcoded into logs, studies, forum posts, and game history links across the site.

Server Performance: Migrating the entire infrastructure to a separate identification system would require massive developer time and risk server lag.

Practical and Community Reasons

Player Confusion: Opponents would struggle to track match histories or recognize regular chat and tournament opponents if names changed frequently.

Moderation and Fair Play: Permanent names prevent cheaters or banned users from hiding their identity or recycling reputable names.

Current Alternatives: Lichess allows users a one-time capitalization adjustment if they only need to fix lowercase or uppercase letters.

Would you like to know how to properly close an existing account and start fresh with a new username on Lichess?

Chess moniker usernames carry traces of history, even if it could change slowly over time. Names are more than just labels. They can connect people to communities, and can evolve as people and societies change, but a complete name change might be seen as an attempt to erase all that history.
