When playing chess, do you prefer to play white or black?

Black - Idk why, I just like playing Black more :p

I slightly prefer being Black. Was more enjoyable for me being Black against the old computer program I played most often. As white he had a variety of openings including Nf3 and D4.

Maybe that’s the mindset I need to adopt so I stop fearing playing as black.To those who gave reasons like openings or gambits, that’s exactly what I was hoping to learn. Keep them coming!

Depends on the day ;p

Playing as Black: You can know what to do after the 1st move.
Playing as White: You don't know Black's 1st move, but you'll develop faster.

Maybe... For advantages, white, for excitement, Black. I prefer White. But for some entertaining game, I love Black. Depend on the situation.

I like Black for playing really aggressive/dubious chess, especially 1. h5 against London System players. But if I actually want to win, then I prefer White very slightly. But for fun I prefer Black because you can surprise your opponents and get really fun exciting positions.
