Your 3D piece sets are too big, all of them. I lost several games because they overlap other squares too much causing me to place them on the wrong squares. Please consider reducing the size of them relative to the squares on the board.

Who genuinely uses 3D pieces in a 2D online chess site

I like 3D pieces, it feels more like playing IRL games with actual players. Also who says we can't make the entire board 3D. It's good to have good goals. :} Donate and help Lichess do this!!

It's not that easy to do board 3D.

It's not that easy to do board 3D.

Most newer Macs came with a preinstalled chess application that is 3D by default and it does it fairly well. The user can change the viewing angles etc. it just needs more customization options like the ability to make the pieces a little smaller. Lichess could follow this model and do something similar, it would be a great addition to the site IMO. :}

Ok I understand, not a bad idea actually. But I think this can cause lag more than 2D. Whatever, that's a good idea!
