Responsibility for implementing the take back function lies with the developers of the Maia bots.

Thank you! But you were able to allow takebacks against maia bots in the lichess app. Perhaps you could come up with a similar function for your website? It is a new function in the app, perhaps you weren't aware of it yet! It also will give feedback on your moves, which I don't like but the takeback function is VERY valuable. It's so tiresome to have to go through analysis/board editor/play a friend/play from position/maia bot just to start the game again from a basic blunder. Playing the bots should be about fun and practice. Anyway I hope you can bring the same functionality from the app to the website. I quit playing the bots a few years ago because of the hassle and no takebacks.

Please understand that iam only a normal user who made a research to answer your question. If Lichess has implemented this function for the app (which i dont use), you have to wait for an answer of the devs or ask the devs of maia.

That's strange, it doesn't work for me.
It works in "practice" mode!!! It's great! I've been wating for years for takebacks against maia bots haha. Go to "play computer" and choose maia as the computer there.

Well that's what I am requesting for the web version then, whatever it would take to be able to play the maia bots with takebacks allowed! If it's run locally that's more than fine.
Let us choose Maia when we play against the computer, like we can in the app. That way we can be given takebacks too. Sound ok @lichess ?
