Due to some unexpected reactions of a few users i decided to delete this posts.
So its not a bug.
(@)HrishikeshPs: The number on one's profile is how many posts that a user has made; it is not how many that they currently have.

but wait that means you deleted a thousand posts........?
The opposite happens to me. A search for mcgoves finds more posts than my profile counts, not fewer.
