So I am aware that the marathon trophies get awarded automatically right after the tournamnet ends but
What happens if some players in the top 500 get disqualified for something a couple days after the tournament ends? Can the new players who were previously on 501+ places and now are in the top 500, due to disqualifications, contact Lichess support and get their trophy?
This has got my attention because in the recent 2026 Autumn Marathon @thanosmav and I got 501st and 502nd places respectively. And as you'd expect, on 25th october we moved one place and today we moved up by another one. So now he is placed 499th and I'm 500th.
Thank you for your time!

Precisely that! @matusayayim
I was wondering if there's a chance for me and @thanosmav to get it under these circumstances

This is an absurd situation that has persisted for ages. Why even bother with player movements after a tournament has concluded?
In the case of a marathon, it becomes a complete mockery.
For prize-pool tournaments and marathons, results should be considered provisional for at least three days after the finish (currently, players are no longer removed from a tournament after a certain point—I would extend that period to at least a month).

Thank you very much for your kind words!@matusayayim
I hope to get a response from someone on Lichess in this forum, but if I won't get one in a couple of days I'll open a support ticket asking the same thing.
I'm not in a rush so I'll patiently wait for now

The system runs a script that deletes the ToS violaters. The script that gives the trophies to the players runs before the script that deletes the ToS violaters. If Lichess change the order of script execution the problem would be solved.

Yeah I read the statistics report on the previous marathon @rajul_s
That's where I learned about trophies being given to the original rankings, so nothing new here
But it's useful to know the way to fix the problem, so thank you! But in the end it is up to Lichess. Still waiting for their response
Thank you very much for helping out!
