Hello everyone,
I would like to propose a new chess variant called Grand Chess 6.
It is designed for six players, three per team, playing on a single continuous 24×8 board (files A–X).
Each team has 24 pawns, 21 non-king pieces, and one shared king. The white king starts on M1 and the black king on M8. The other four king squares (E1, U1, E8 and U8) remain empty.
Players take turns in this order: White-left, Black-left, White-center, Black-center, White-right, Black-right.
Pieces follow their usual movement rules across the entire board, without artificial boundaries between the three starting sections.
I have designed an initial board layout and would love to hear whether the community finds this variant interesting and whether it could be feasible on Lichess.
What do you think?
Thank you!
