Hi everyone,
I would like to suggest a small workflow improvement to make reviewing recent games faster and more intuitive, particularly for players who frequently use the Analysis Board.
Current Friction
Currently, if you want to inspect or analyze recent games after leaving the post-game screen, the workflow requires:
Username menu Profile Games tab Select game Analysis board
While this path works, loading the full profile just to reach your recent match history introduces unnecessary navigation steps when the main intent is simply reviewing mistakes from a session.
Proposed Solutions
To maintain Lichess's clean and distraction-free design, this could be approached in a few lightweight ways:
- Direct menu entry: Add a direct "Recent games" or "Game history" shortcut inside the top-right user dropdown menu (alongside Profile, Inbox, Preferences), bypassing the need to navigate through the entire profile page first.
- Optional homepage widget: An opt-in, toggleable widget in preferences showing the last 3–5 games played, allowing users who prioritize analysis to jump into their games with a single click.
- Last Game shortcut: A subtle quick-action link on the home dashboard (e.g., "Analyze last game").
Rationale
The Analysis Board and Study features are among Lichess's greatest strengths. Reducing navigation friction between playing and analyzing encourages better post-game review habits without cluttering the default experience for casual players.
I would love to hear thoughts from the community and developers on whether a shortcut like this fits Lichess's UI direction. Thank you for the incredible platform!

Lichess is looking at a feature that would allow you to add this shortcut ("My games") to your lobby page.
They've been sitting on it for awhile though.. Could be there's reluctance to let outside contributors affect something so visible.
If it's refused, the rationale will be about "direction" (if one is given at all).
