Hi GatoChess89
Thanks for your help.
I do NOT want to delete the account.
I want to graduate / release / give control of a "managed account" that is in a"class" to the student that has used it for >3 years. They have recently left the school. They are extremely keen on chess and have several years of games, puzzles etc that I don't want them to lose.
As I explained in the original message above I have graduated accounts before and it is a straightforward procedure:
- Choose the managed account in the class overview list
- Click to Graduate it.
- Paste in email address (often parent's email but sometimes a newly created email account made by the parent for their teenager).
- Tell them to check the email for a message from Lichess and to click the link to accept control of the account .
It is currently not working as it has in the past - or as it should . When the parents click the link in the email from Lichess they simply get directly to an error webpage on Lichess as mentioned above. The account remains a "managed account".
Someone I know suggested it might be because the email used is already associated with another Lichess account (which I understand would be an issue) - but I know that is not the case.
