I played a game in which i won but it was called a draw

i just played a game in a bullet arena in which my opponent timed out and it was called a draw when my opponent timed out. I had a queen on the board, and it was definetly not repition. Is this a special rule or something? Could you please give me the rating points for this game. Thank you in advance

Insufficient material. (White has no choice but to capture the queen.)

"insufficient material" is not exacly the correct wording. The rule is that its a draw if there is no legal series of moves that leads to a win. That is the case here, since the only legal move for white leads to a position where their loosing is impossible.

Huh... under FIDE rules clearly this is drawn, and yet I'm puzzled how Lichess figured that out.

Ah, so this patch covers the vast majority of situations like this by single-move search... very nice and good enough!

Does 'insufficient material' mean all positions which have been already recognized on Lichess
as drawish after a player runs out of time?
And can the system detect such positions if they are forced to appear only after a few moves?

drawish

To be specific: no legal sequence of moves leading to checkmate

only after a few moves

It works for two moves deep:

I am sorry for confusion, @corvusmellori, I thought about positions which on Lichess result in draw
when one player ran out of time. In the case above the position is unwinnable for white already after
2. ...Qxa2+, so maybe computer claimed draw after calculating one forced move only.

It would be also good to know whether the set of positions in which we can claim draw (by pushing
the draw button) coincides with the set of recognized on Lichess positions unwinnable for our opponent.
