In the game white has been flagged and black has already played the move,It is an ultra bullet match so white being flag technically should be winning for black,But it was resulted in a draw. What is this glitch or bug?Or what is this rule? @lichess

@lichess
No legal sequence of moves leads to mate by Black, so Black cannot win and its a draw. The rule is not new. It has been part of the laws of chess since 2014. However, it is quite recently (I want to guess half a year) since Lichess has introduced the correct implementation of this particular rule into its code.

[PR in scalachess](https://github.com/lichess-org/scalachess/pull/821) was approved <t:1787469540:D>
[Scalachess 17.17.0](https://github.com/lichess-org/scalachess/releases/tag/17.17.0) (with update) was released at <t:1788600240:D> and [submitted on lila](https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/commit/edb13011e28bc6d0bde0caeaacfd9830c291c810)
And Lichess deployed at <t:1788677040:D> (<t:1788677040:R>)
But if that is the point,it is an ultrabullet event eventually he got flagged and didnt play a move,What if that happens in an otb event and my opponent doesnt even play the move he sleeps and gets flagged,Will it still be considered a draw as there are no other moves possible for him to play?

The Laws of Chess are clear: 6.9 Except where one of Articles 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 5.2.1, 5.2.2, 5.2.3 applies, if a player does not complete the prescribed number of moves in the allotted time, the game is lost by that player. However, the game is drawn if the position is such that the opponent cannot checkmate the player’s king by any possible series of legal moves.
"What if that happens in an otb event"

Yes, as I said above. This has been a law of chess since 2014. In any FIDE otb event its a draw. Any half-way compitant arbitor will recognize it as such. (It might not be in some national federation NON-FIDE tournaments, since some national federations are slightly out of sync with the official international rules).

they are not out sync they have chosen to stay in the old rule. Like finnish rules team blitz championship have their own rules. most importants is that 1st illegal move loses as that is far more practical in mass events.

From M.-W. dictionary:
"out of sync": "in a state in which two or more people or things do not agree with or match one another"

This also happens in OTB, since the black pieces no longer have the option to win.
