I a think Lichess could introduce a separate penalty system for repeated correspondence abandoned.
For example if a user starts coraspondanc game and never return or just make a few moves then just stop does it in at least about 50% of 10 game and still online don't count if just not online or busy
Thay should get a warning
If continue a 1 month coraspondanc ban only effected coraspondanc
If still continue up to 6 months coraspondanc banned only effects coraspondanc
Do you fink it should be introduced or not
Just a idea
I would be happy to hear you ideas as well

it’s a good idea.
i used to play correspondence games but then got so busy that the games just expired so i decided not to play those anymore.
if a person keeps doing it, though, that’s a different story. they should play when they can complete the game and not keep letting the game expire

If they aren't doing the correspondence games, but are still active on their account, then they could get a temporary account suspension maybe? Or perhaps Lichess could just spam notifications until they play a random move out of frustration. If they aren't active on their account for 50 days maybe then victory would go to the other person.
50 days is a while to wait, even if the time limit is infinite. Or perhaps Lichess could punish them by setting all of their elo to 0 lol

I am of the opinion that the existing penalty, that is, a ToS mark for sandbagging, is a sufficient deterrent.
