How can someone who has been on the site for 8 years get 15 points for winning? Or is that a bot bug ?

I mean if you are really overrated then you can. Once i lost against someone 50 points below me and they gained 30 rating which i thought was really unfair.
some one who has been on siten long time can have also long breaks from playing and his/her RD goes up and then large swing in rating are possible.

After researching roughly for a minute, I found the user you were talking about.
The “has been on the site for 8 years” doesn’t really matter, the rating deviation does.
You see, the rating deviation of a player determines how many points you can gain or lose against another certain player.
The longer you haven’t played chess, the higher your rating deviation will get.
And the higher your rating deviation will get, the more points you can gain or lose in a match.
In this situation, you were facing against a player who hasn’t played in a long time (which you can tell by their rating deviation). Since your opponent won against you and their rating deviation is absurdly high, it makes sense that they gained a lot more points than they usually do.
Thanks for this. Much appreciated.
