I have come back after a short break, and the board looks much smaller now than before. I am playing from my laptop with a touch screen, and felt more comfortable with a bigger board, which used to be there. (My Zoom shows 100% now, the window is not diminished, but the board is smaller.) Is it possible to enlarge the board without hiding a part of the chat?

can you share us a screenshot on how it looks smaller? Most of the cases you can increase the size of board by a resize handle in bottom right corner of the board.

https://lichess.org/account/preferences/display#displayBoardResizeHandle might be useful.
You can resize the board to max, and increase page size to +125 using (Ctrl +), it looks the biggest while not hiding the chat. Decrease page size using (Ctrl -)

It is visible. I think I found the solution: all you have to do is use the resize handle and increase board size. It is visible in your screenshot, in the bottom right corner of board

Thank you very much, it works now. It is visible, but only if you know what and where you are searching for.
