terrible bullet latency

No player should be punished for having a good internet connection. When my opponent has 0.1 seconds remaining in a 1+0 bullet game, I expect them to flag - not play another seven moves while their clock gains time after every move.

I sacrificed my queen based on the time displayed on my opponent's clock. If I can't trust the clock in a game where every fraction of a second matters, what's the point?

Lag compensation should not come at the expense of the player with the better connection. That was my last game on Lichess, after spending very little time on the platform.

Well... fair point but usually bad connection ends up losing you time, and honestly who cares if you lose a game? It is not the end of the world.

I find it hard to believe any lag compensation algorithm would behave as you describe. I suspect you are exaggerating.
