A Little Story About Chess
Once upon a time, a very special game appeared in India, more than 1,500 years ago. It was called Chaturanga.
Chaturanga was an early form of chess. It represented an army with different parts, including foot soldiers, horses, elephants, and chariots.
As time passed, the game traveled from India to Persia, where it developed further. Later, it spread through the Arab world and reached Europe.
Over many centuries, the rules changed. By around the 15th century, chess was becoming much closer to the game we play today.
Today, people all over the world enjoy chess. Children and adults play it for fun, friendship, and competition.
