There is only one coming isnt? Or there are more?
I feel that the major storylines are done already. So now is to remake the xmen and do it properly this time. poor Hugh, he is gonna do that until he is 90.

I looked at the Wikipedia for phase six of mcu.
It listed,
Avengers: Doomsday
December 18, 2026
Avengers: Secret Wars
December 17, 2027
I was expecting a longer list.
A Nova movie is confirmed for about 3 years out.

They already sorta messed up X-men by making Jean Grey weird in the first movie.
They gave her the power of a mutant named Malice in the first part of the movie. Malice lost her own body and just just possesses other people's bodies jumping from person to person like Jean Grey does in the first half. Her limitation is she can only possess people pretty close to her former "host".
They in the middle it was revealed that the possession-mutant had a body. OK that's a mutant called Karma that does that.
Then they ended up saying this is Jean Grey - her powers have aways been different in the comic, telekinesis and telepathy but she's never possessed anybody. The whole possession thing from the first part of the movie makes no sense anymore now.
It was a fun movie, I liked it, and OK they can have some fun using thr powers of diffrent mutants and just gloss it over. Whatever.
But I think in the long run, when you want to keep people interested over many movies, it's no good to change the power of a main character 3 times during a movie. Because it becomes meh if the characters can just do whatever.
They could just have said that Jean Grey worked together with Malice and then kill Malice off at some point - then tthey would have avoided this. I don't get why they had to merge the characters.

If certain action/event is important, but the character that did it is not that much, or it consumes a lot of screen time, but is not relevant enough, it can be done for summary purposes.
For instance, in Game of thrones. The knight of the roses, in the show, he is a great warrior, and has an intimate relationship with another male character.
But in the books, they are 2 brothers. The big one is the big warrior, and the other, well, not so much.
Though I have not read the books that far, in the show, is not a meaningless character, but its not that important. To have 2 of those eating up screen time, background, etc gives next to nothing to the plot unless they are relevant enough. So they just fused them together, as there were only a few key events where they were the center piece.
But you are right. Jean Grey does not possess people, she has the ability to read minds though, so it would have been easier for her to read the minds instead of possessing people. That is what happens when people that are not fans of the source material start writing stuff for it. But if its for giving shape to the plot, adding the extra power is not necessarily that problematic.
I suppose you saw days of the future past. It was a good movie.
But in the original show, thats literally within the first episodes of the cartoon. The consciousness of Kitty pride is the one that is sent to the past to warn the x-men about the assassination of the senator that starts the whole anti mutant legislation.
In the movie, the consciousness of wolverine is the one that goes into the past. Same event, different character. If the rest of the movie is well written, you can live with it.
I don't get why they had to merge the characters.
I think it will bite them later. Possession of other people is like a nasty superpower, and it makes people not like her.
Also it has established she posesses people so I guess when she stops doing that for no reason later on and insetad starts doing telekinesis many people will sort of expect her to possess a person now and there - and then when she doesn't they won't have a clear idea of what her powers are.
I think in super hero stuff because it's so crazy with the powers it's imporant to stay as consistent as possible, because it just gets boring and stupid if characcters can just randomly walk through walls or possess people or something, It becomes like watching children playing Fortnite.
The point of her in the comic is also that she is this super good and nice character that ind the end is corrupted by power. By making her sort of wicked and angry from the beginning they've already torpedoed this whole storyline kinda.
Days of Future Past was btw originally a comic by Claremont and Byrne, Uncanny X-Men 141-142 from 1982. They also changed that I guess because Wolverine had to do everything lol. The original story future-Kitty Pride comes back to the present, so they could have just stuck to that.
see I haven't read the comics, haven't watched X-men but only the main Avengers movies and the Spiderman movies..
is the Jean Gray introduced in Brand New Day another interpretation of the character? what happens to the X-men Jean then?
i don't like to watch movies other than horror ones ._.
