What are some of the best chess books you've ever read? Ones that just changed your entire perspective on the game, and left a deep impression on you. I haven't read enough chess books to know mine, but what about you?

@tpr I've heard loads of praises of it. Must be really good, I've got to get my hands on that xD

The art of checkmate was pretty cool . If you ever read it there are a few situations where an alternate solution is viable.
I always recommend this " Chess tactics for Champions " Susan (Zuzu) Polgar, many themes and tactical examples, took me abt a month to work through it. I'd say intermediate but it does expose you to many tactile ideas,.
1001 chess puzzles ( Tim Brennan i think) is rather entertaining and instructive.
I've read " My System " and the ideas were good though some say it's been refuted. Idk,chess is always evolving.
Reuben Fine is rather good.
As is Capablanca.
6o memorable games is informative also..
51 chess openings for beginners ( Bruce Alberson) is somewhat good for beginners so if you want to learn the initial phase of many openings it's good for tt, 6 -8 moves ,introductory to many openings.
I liked it anyway
It led me down many a rabbithole.
Seriously though it's good to explore styles,I'm fond of hypermodern myself though i guess it's a hundred years by now.
But heck,I'm 68....
So ya know...
;)

@Dukedog thank you for taking your time to post. it really is good to explore, and even though I don't play a lot of hypermodern, I'm fascinated by it too (I'm much younger than you, though <3).
