Favorite Current Public Figure?

Some people just inspire respect and admiration. The more we see them, the more we like them.

Is there anybody like that for you in current public life, esteemed reader?

There is a large choice of good people, so far as I can tell.

I tried to narrow my own choice and found it difficult.

But I'll suggest two --- both of whom strike me as really excellent human beings who have an increasing chance to help America, and even the world:

Byron Donalds

and

Marco Rubio.

It's hard to find fault with either of these highly intelligent individuals who are apparently filled with both integrity and a quiet, steadfast courage.

There are many others, too -- but I hope neither of these two will ever be overlooked.

There are some current public figures who also make me queasy and sad. But why be negative. I think it's healthy to focus on the positive and not spend too much time being fearful or aggrieved.

EDIT: I just realized I simply must add two more, who are obviously wonderful -- both brave, reasonable and intelligent:

Steve Hilton

and

Michelle Tafoya.

Our cup runneth over.

I don't think anyone is perfect, so I think it's important to keep that in mind when admiring or following someone. We can appreciate someone's good qualities without agreeing with everything they do imo :p

True, @AveraWyvern !

Even the spaniel is not completely perfect!

I've got some furniture that aould attest to that. If furniture could, you know, communicate.

I didn't do anything to it. But the spaniel doesn't always understand what table and chair legs are properly for.

Or perhaps he does, and simply wishes to communicate displeasure if the biscuit is a bit late in coming.

The spaniel is far from stupid. So, I suspect he's a fan of Steve Hilton. And not a fan of some other candidates, whom I will politely not mention.

Well, he often serves as an instructive example.

@Noflaps, is the spaniel standing over your shoulder while you type? jk

@AveraWyvern there is a copious quantity of spaniel lore that one learns when one has read @Noflaps's posts as often as I have.
To call the spaniel instructive is an understatement; the spaniel lends a certain flaplessness to any conversation it is mentioned in.
