I built a chess variant where every move has a chance of failing

post-100.png
I've been working on a variant called ReChess. The idea is simple: every move carries a chance of not happening. A pawn is the riskiest piece at around 4%, a queen is 1%, and the king never fails. Moving the same piece twice in a row raises its number, and standing next to enemy pieces raises it further. You see the exact percentage before you commit, so it isn't a dice roll, it's a decision with a known cost.

It changes the endgame more than I expected. Your rook on the seventh looks winning until you notice it has been moving every turn and now carries 3.6%. The king becomes the piece you can actually trust.

There are five modes with different risk levels, bots to practise against, and a weekly tournament. It runs in the browser, no install, and there's an Android build too.

Would be glad to hear what you think, especially where the numbers feel wrong.

Thanks, that means a lot. I leave open match invites almost every day, right on the home screen under "Looking for a game". Take one whenever you want a game.

I registered by translating each line, but maybe you could explain? It is definitely possible that it's my fault, but I don't see how

and this does look cool as hell btw, I would definitely play this if I could read what it's saying
