Job hunting as a programmer feels impossible lately

I'm a college student.I feel like it's just so hard to find a job right now, especially for programmers.I support AI because it moves humanity forward. But for individuals, it also means losing jobs. How do you guys feel about this?

I am vibe coding my own app now. A small booking system to be used for a small 1-person company. So it's just replacing a bunch of excel sheets and a lot of paper post its.

It's crazy for me that it's possible to do that with Clause. I am just telling it "Add possiblity to book every second weekend" or "make it sp I can create holidays and then i get an option to cancel all holiday bookings and send an automatied message to clients" and so on.

I think it would have cost a lot of monet to get a coder to make your own tailor-made booking system a frw years ago, and Now I can just make it mysefl with very limited code knoweledge.

I have though some technical knowsledge, and I don't think it would be possible for people with total zero knowledge to do it.

I guess he challenge for consumer apps will be the design, to figure out whih functions exactly to add.

Random people might not not what they should have added, so probably they still want to pay somebody to make sure it's got the things they need but don't know they need.

Thanks, I'm good. It's just that GPT recently put out 722 math papers on its official site, solving a lot of problems. I can't help but be amazed at how strong AI has gotten

I heard Claude is amazing and wanted to give it a try, but sadly I'm Chinese and can't use it due to some political reasons

Artificial intelligence still has hope for the job market, but I think super intelligence would mean there would be no more use for humans.

Yeah I also heard it was great for apps so I thought I would give it a try and it delivers. I expected many bugs and such but it doesn't look like it.

I just wonder if they won't run out of seniors in some years? I mean no new juniors also means no new serniors right?

Yes. That is a question many people are asking. No/less juniors could be a real issue and we don't know what impact it will have on the software development industry.
