I was just reading of her exploits in today's article in the NY Post. How did she ever get ambassadorship?

She had close ties with the trump family so she just got nominated by him T_T

Lest we all forget, this is a woman who was married to Gavin Newsom AND engaged to Donald Trump Jr. In other words, we all should have known that she's probably not the most principled of people.

More recent and more consequential embarrassing news: the executive order waiving sanctions against Russia. Wow!

The real embarassment is elsewhere. Yesterday, in the Financial Times:
- Editor's picks: The Trump administration has entered its utter shambles era
- Is American democracy safe? Martin Wolf on the US midterms. The FT’s chief economics commentator speaks to former Republican adviser Robert Kagan
It's no leftist media. What you have there is a british conservative newspaper of record, calling the current US administration "utter shambles", and openly discussing the possibility of Trump using force to prevent people voting in midterms and Republican congress leaders doing nothing about it.

Republicans using force to prevent people from voting lawfully?
lol.
By all means, stick around and see if that actually happens. And if and when it doesn't, perhaps ponder that for a bit, before moving on to the next political distraction.
I think you'll find that that actually happens, if it ever does, well AFTER Time Square becomes a lake and the current California government solves homelessness and wildfires.

Republicans? I thought I was careful enough to explicitely allude to Trump and Republican congress leaders: I generally try to avoid hasty generalizations.
But apparently I was not careful enough: some insist that a critique of a handful amounts to a critique of all.
Edit: ah, I almost forgot. Let the edit fest begin!

Trump is a Republican. He's been repeatedly attacked and smeared, for a decade now, and a lot of nonsense has been firmly believed about him by many.
Let's just wait and see if this latest fear (of somehow using force to prevent lawful voting) ACTUALLY occurs. We only have to wait a few weeks to see. Let's do that.
And then ponder what reality actually turns out to be. Hey, maybe I'll be surprised! But I don't think so, frankly.
I've heard the sky is falling so many times that I no longer even bother to look up.

Still waiting for a reply of the apologist . I guess cherry picking will be the plan instead . ;-)

I agree with @clousems that marrying both Newson and Trump Jr. (at different times, of course) presents a ponderable situation.
However, I'm far from sure that we can leap to a notion, from that alone, that the woman is unprincipled. People can evolve, or perhaps simply be open-minded, tolerant and not judgmental. Or be fooled.
I don't know enough of the facts at hand to assess the woman with authority. Perhaps others feel they do know enough. I'll await more facts than those about previous marital choices, however.
Both Newsom and Trump Jr. are pretty good looking, articulate fellows. I'm not surprised they might each be able to attract the interest of a good-looking young lady. I'd have to know much more about the young lady before I'd presume to offer a strong opinion about her.
So, I'll await a bit more information before I'm tempted to follow any political fashion about her. In any event, I know that if Trump determines she is not performing adequately, he'll do something to change the situation. He tries hard to correct mistakes, and knows that nobody is free from mistakes.
Isn't it nice to have a leader who doesn't try to just gloss over and continue mistakes? One that doesn't, for example, just pretend that a wide open border, from a practical standpoint, is actually "secure" or "not securable."
