"Reason" by Isaac Asimov. It's about a robot that works on a spaceship and starts to question it's on existence. As all everyone does is work to keep the spaceship intact, it concludes that the spaceship is the master and consequently starts a religion with itself being the prophet as it knows the needs of the master. As a consequence it refuses to obey the humans on board, who desperately try to argue with the robot.

Sounds very interesting - do you happen to know if this robot inspired 2001: A Space Odyssey's HAL 9000 in any way?

The makers of A Space Odyssey must have known about Asimov's short stories as they are classics. But QT 1 is not malevolent. On the contrary, it cannot harm humans as it is bound by the three laws of robotics.

Romeo and Juliet-Shakespear

  1. Not a short story
  2. It’s stupid
  3. Like, come on! Life is about facing the obstacles. Why would you hide something so personal to your parents?? Bro’s just thinking about escaping and eating his girl’s mouth, I mean COME ON!!!
  1. Correct, a play.
  2. ...from a certain point of view, yes, it's stupid...
  3. ...from a certain point of view, that's how you're supposed to react. There are two main interpretations of this play (as far as I know), one emphasizing the futility of the family feud, and praising Romeo and Juliet for bringing the families together, the other interpreting it as a cautionary tale about young lovers.

I would also read every plot that Shakespeare writes not as his personal opinion on a matter, not only because he almost always takes story ideas from other sources, but also because he was commissioned to write this. Like Mozart, he wrote it because he HAD to, not because necessarily wanted to.
