In this one, rare, instance I do not mean the football club. Despite my vast respect for it.
I mean the city.
Some -- many of the young -- do not realize what a lifeline to civilization the city was, not that long ago.
Liverpool is a port. A great, wonderful port.
Through which life can, and did, flow
How can I turn this truth into a thread?
What nice things can you say about Liverpool? I hope someone will contribute, although I'm risking a silent reponse, of course. I am not certain this will receive any response at all. Many just don't know, now.
Why risk? The young don't always realize the past. I can't blame them, I guess. But Liverpool will have the thanks of many, until we die away, and disappear.
Liverpool was heart and lungs to a great empire. And for that, at least, it will live in history. Some of us think it is still breathing and beating, though. Some of us sense greatness growing still.
And I think we are correct. But it takes effort to respond, so I can't be sure of a confirmation. The bread is cast upon the waters. Perhaps something will turn up.
