So back in the midsixties i lived in NC somewhat near Fort Bragg, height of vietnam.
Now my dad one of his few redeeming qualities was he'd take us for sunday drives, almost every sunday, slow ,dirt roads, through the woods, just exploring.
So one sunday we're out there and i had to pee. So i get out, wander over to a pine tree and let go. Midstream i look to my left and what do i see? A green beret in full camo behind a fallen log. We'd wandered into an Army training exercise..
Well i finished up,tucked in and gave him a salute which he returned.Lol,cool thing for a kid.
You never know what you might find in the woods...
Once i was fishing at an alpine lake and i heard thunder in the distance. A few seconds later 2 F16s appeared over the lake, did a barrel roll and were gone lol talk about agog. Camp ground host told me yeah they've cuaght a few trees on fire when they hit the afterburners in the past.
Crossing the Pacific i saw a massive Manta ray breaching midocean and had flying fish land on the flight deck kinda appropriate .Also saw a volcano erupting on the horizon. Saw Comet West hanging on the early morning sky amist the red clouds of dawn.
I've seen the aurora borealis and wandered the universe in a telescope i assembled myself.
But i digress...
A blessing of age...
So we tell ourselves...
What have you ever seen that most people haven't ?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Or perhaps that wasn't me. But if it wasn't, it should have been.
All respect to those who wrote the screenplay for Blade Runner.

On a great evening, at the Inn of the Square Table, Our Good and Benevolent King Arthur, after a number of ales that even the Chroniclers forgot about, so, as I said, Our Good and Benevolent King Arthur confided me of his dream to play skipping stones.
After running against the wind on our imaginary horses, faster than an unladen swallow, we stopped by the lake. Unfortunately, there wasn't a flat pebble to be found. Our good king then reasoned that if a skipping stone is flat, and his sword, horizontally, is also flat, then the sword could make an excellent skipping stone. The finest skipping stone.
We so, on the Will of Our Good and Benevolent King Arthur, we throwed Excalibur III into the water, but there were no more sound after the "blop" and no return of the sword. Upon our return to the castle, we explained that the Lady of the Lake had taken Arthur's sword. And that's what the Chronicles tells us about.

I was a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy, and worked in a Naval hospital for 3 &1/2 years.
I attended several educational autopsies, very up close. Can't say I enjoyed any of that! -:]

I bet you guys have never seen pink dolphins, pet a capybara, experienced flying a plane, or canoe 60 miles of backcountry
