Also, would 4'33" be considered jazz?
If you want to experience most of jazz, it's easy to do by listening to Miles Davis.
That genius gentleman with a very long and evolving career (for nearly five decades) could pretty much "do it all."
I love jazz but I want to hear more types of jazz so pls tell me some
Thanks for making this thread. You've sent me down a jazz rabbit hole, and I'm learning a lot.
I can't post any YouTube videos right now, as I exceeded my video posting limit, and I've been sent to the corner of the room for a timeout. Maybe in another day or two...
I found a video of the "Eastwood After Hours" jazz performance at Carnegie Hall in 1997. I hadn't realized how many Clint Eastwood movies had jazz songs in them. The first movie mentioned was "Play Misty for Me", so of course I had to look up a few versions of people singing "Misty". Sarah Vaughn's version sung in Sweden just takes my breath away.
My favorite jazz recording is Dizzy Gillespie "All the Things You Are". The above post about jazz in Clint Eastwood movies: his movie "The Rookie" has a sequence where a band at a party plays All the Things You Are, making the movie more enjoyable.
A more recent favorite is "Palm Strings" by Marc Antoine. Latin jazz was trendy at the turn of this century.
