Roy Buchanan (r.i.p) - the world's best kept secret.

<snip>

the lead guitar in this roy buchanan song is so good. so glad you posted this.

I have heard from a couple of people that Buchanan actually wrote the song and gave it to Hendrix, although I am not sure how one might verify this. This cut is part of a 1/2 hour video of a concert in Austin TX in 1976. By way of introduction, when Mick Taylor quit the Rolling Stones in the '70s they offered Buchanan the job and he turned them down. He just wanted to live a normal life. I leave you with one more, his cover of Booker T's "Green Onions".

ai seems to know something about the song, saying it was recorded by a few other artists before hendrix did his rendition of it.

If we include historical figures, my answer is W. A. Mozart—his music is just so lively, and even his double piano sonata (K. 448) can boost your brain if you listen to it fore a while!

My interest in classical music bloomed when I had a music appreciation class as elective in college. Particularly we watched the movie Amadeus. I also attended Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and was fortunate to have a personal introduction with the great symphony and choral conductor, Robert Shaw.

I'm watching the Sellersville, NY Zebra show from this year. Talking myself into going soon for my 4th Zebra performance. V is going to hit strong, one man's opinion.
