the russian language is :
- 1000 years of history.
- great culture
- science (and nuclear weapon)
- 150,000,000 native speakers.
moreover, the slavic-russian language, according to the testimony of foreign aesthetes themselves, yields neither to latin in manliness nor to greek in smoothness, surpassing all european languages.

Meine ist gleichwertig, ansonsten ist mein Lieblingsspieler Karpov. So steht es geschrieben. Weiß/Blau/Rot und Schwarz/Rot/Gold; schade, daß man die nationalen Flaggen verbannt hat.

I suppose they speak it ... because they can!
I enjoy speaking in every language in which I can manage to do so, even a little. Doesn't everybody?
Knowing ANY language is a joy.
Even I know a few words in Russian, as they were taught to me by some Ukrainian chess players, long ago: I believe I know how to say (but not spell) words like:
Thank you (spas-EE-ba). Draw (NEE-tchee- uh). To Castle (the verb); (rook-ee-ROHF-kuh). Good (HOR-uh-show).
Would I like some more Stolys? DA!
Do I want to live in Moscow? NYET!
Here's a rhyme to remember: it's hot to be a polyglot!
