We are still in the 3rd decade of this century.
Israel wages wars in the Gaza Genocide, West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Syria.
The USA wages wars in Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Caraibic international waters and threatens conquest of Venezuela, Canada, Island, Spain, Greenland...
Russia fights in Ukraine and the USA has sold it out in exchange for Venezuela.
The United Nations and the International Criminal Court have less influence.
The disastrous results of global warming: heat waves, droughts, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, avalanches, landslides become more and more clear, but nobody does anything against coil, oil, gas, meat, and dairy.

Looking back, the ’90s almost seem like a golden age. Okay, there were plenty of terrible events back then, too - the Yugoslav wars, for example. But there was hope and optimism that, despite occasional setbacks here and there, things could only get better. These days, there isn't much left of that hope, is there? The awareness that everyone - every individual in society as well as every country in the world - is in the same boat seems to be fading. At the very least, the United Nations and international law have suffered a severe setback. And just two or three push notifications are enough to show you how fragmented and confusing the world is.
