Hey everyone 1700 after 3 years or so.

So I've been playing on line chess for about 3 years ,I started at 1500? and 1500 was about my level , I had previous account SchizoSi and then this one when I changed my name. I'm 50 years old and it has been tough at times going down to 1400 at times . I would like to say , you can improve , anyone can improve, even if your older . I've reached 1700 and I'm very proud ,I know it's probably not much to some of you but it's a great high for me and I wanted to share it with you all , peace up , SOJB xxx

Congratulations. Thanks for sharing - I hope this inspires others to keep going too.

You have a great attitude toward chess. Congratulations on reaching 1700.

I started chess as an adult too and I agree, learning as an adult is not an excuse, nor is it nearly the handicap people make it out to be. The limitations come from commitment and motivation (I want to be a GM but I won't quit my job and neglect my family to study chess), not biological reasons.
