How did everyone do :)
I got #617, not shabby for my first marathon I guess, the time control also sucked.

#885 121 games and 121 points, not bad! Thanks for all the zerking opps, too fast for me tho w/o inc.
A marathon is not a spring. I loved the increment time control of 3+2 seconds. The increment gives us pondering time. It gives me better quality games. I made it to the top third with only 15 games, and a standings of 5678 / 21022. The middle third was between 7007 and 14014.
I got #5974 not bad :) played 49 games and played 20 on my alt :)
I need to start studying to get better :)
I got #1387. I knew that the time control would be challenging for me as I need to type out my moves and also use 1-1.5 seconds every time he makes a move to hear the computer announce his move. I thought these challenges would even out with the fact that my opponents would be tired while I was fresh because I joined very late.
I was sort of right. First I lost 30+ points including a loss to a 700 point lower rated player, but I did win most of it back so ended up losing only 2 points. Sorry for the long post.
I wanted to share my point of view about the final standings, which is a little like comparing True North to Magnetic North; both are valid ways to measure position, but they lead to different conclusions.
Here are my two perspectives... The True North (Overall Standings) is based on all 21,022 participants. My standings of 5,678 placed me comfortably in the Top Third like I said in post number 3, but the Magnetic North (With at least one win) points us in the competitive subset. The player at standings 15,626 was the last to record a win, meaning 5,396 players finished without a single victory :(
This leaves 15,626 players who actually won a game. So, the competitive landscape is now adjusted. The Middle Third of this group spans between 5,209 to 10,417 players. With my personal standings of 5,678, I now find my self in the Middle Third, which is okay.
It was a great marathon, and the 3+2 time control made for excellent quality games! To those who recorded at least one win, well done! For those still chasing their first Marathon win, keep up the studying and I hope to see you victorious in the next Lichess Marathon. Good luck!
