I just can't wait to hear all the justifications those crazy MAGAs who spent their time repeating we must ban TikTok will now make up.
I am sure they will come up with some entertaining excuses, nay! they will use it as further evidence to prove the mastery, the genius, the adroitness, the ingenuity, the skillfulness of their orange clown idol.
TikTok did not deserve the ban. If you realize the only reason they want tiktok banned is because youtube and facebook is behind the ban and they want all the users on their profile. At least we dont have hmmm what do you call her I don't even know what was she? Indian, Black, White, Arab, Asian? All that I know is that she would have made a "great president". I do not know if in your blind mind that you realize tiktok did not deserve the ban. Granted there is still security issues because of the chinese. All that I know is that Trump rightfully stopped the ban and you should keep your mouth shut. Btw I do not give a **** if the mods mute me that would just prove they are far left lol.

Trump apparently hopes to get rid of reasons that some might object to TikTok.
That doesn't make him an "orange clown." It makes him a problem solver.
Will he ultimately succeed in satisfying those in Congress who might disagree? We'll see.
Perhaps he will. Perhaps he won't. Perhaps he should. Perhaps he shouldn't.
It isn't clownish to try. It is creative and open-minded.
I'm not sure I'll agree with any solution that is proposed. We'll see. Until the solution is presented and clear, it would seem a bit inflexible to make up my mind in advance. Even though I am not predisposed to like TikTok.
Too often, doctrinaire positions exclude observations that might lead to their change. Why? Doctrinaire positions are comfortingly familiar and spare us from further uncertainty and from realizing when we were wrong.
But life is constantly changing. And we are all wrong at times. We can choose to observe that, or we can choose to dislike it and try to shut it out.
We'll see what happens next. Isn't that interesting?
Name calling doesn't generally lead to solutions.

I'm always disappointed by name-calling. Fortunately, I can live with disappointment. The last four years have provided plenty of practice.

Although I would say I do want America to be great again, i completely supported the ban in the first place. I’m disappointed that trump allowed it to be undone.

Just minutes ago, Trump signed the executive order on TikTok. So within 90 days, Trump has the power to either close down the company or have the USA or another USA company to be part owner in the company. Let the negotiations begin! :-)

One has to wonder what was or wasn't said during that phone call with Xi Jinping. Trump says and does a lot of things, but he isn't used to people standing up to him, and doesn't respect the most legitimate challenges, unless they are backed up with a threat he can't match. So how was he persuaded to back down, if only an inch?
One possibility is that he always intended to back down, but to a forward position from which he could bargain for something he wants. A feint to gain space, then a temporary withdrawl to a prepared position. As a chess player, I get that; but T has never struck me as being so adroit. Well, he doesn't have to be a chess master, he just has to have advisors who are. Perhaps he is not only well-advised, but also doing something different this time around; listening to good advice. That would be a first, but stranger things have happened.
Another is XJP actually has a hole card, something that T just can't match. That he, in representing the more rabid attack dogs in congress has taken on something he can't handle; and was politely shown that in doing so he is playing a losing hand. And he has been allowed a respite, a chance to back down with face, a mutually beneficial solution with no losers. That is consistent with the Chinese approach to foreign policy. But I would surely love to know the nuts and bolts of what, how, and why. But that's the beauty of poker and diplomacy, so much is hidden.
Another is... well, use your imagination. We really don't know, we're all just guessing, aren't we? But what should be clear is that the fix is only temporary. It's a patch, not a remedy. Sometime this spring, something's got to give.
