FIDE officials have given us a false sense of hope, and did so by intent I suppose, to nip any potential alternative (Chess960) federation (e.g. Norway-based) in the bud. They have incorporated 960 in the Laws of Chess but then started pretending the game didn't exist. At least they could have organised some online events but see above. FIDE is being run by liars and hypocrites as for decades before, period. Bobby Fischer himself would hardly be surprised with it, though.

At least the 960 enthusiasts should realise that no major change in the CHESS world is going to occur until the WHOLE world gets back to normal (not "the new normal"). Meanwhile it's being very far from normal, given e.g. this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8bY5FLEPaM

Hopefully this insanity is over sooner or later, so we get our intrinsic freedoms back and then find and address some influential people interested in 960 (who must be around among almost 8 billion people on Earth), presumably outside FIDE.
