Dubious version 2.3.95

I am back in town and meanwhile Lichess has published a new feature that collapses/expands the move tree in analysis. I have mixed feelings about it, but long story short I had to go through some hoops to make LiChess Tools work fine with this new addition.

I am not really sure I've captured the entirety of the problems so if you:

  • find move highlighting doing strange things
  • find analysis/study performance degrading significantly
  • feel that anything is wrong in the analysis/study move list functionality, or practice or interactive lessons, etc.
    PLEASE let me know.

Thanks!

I find some issues in study performance, I created a study with many variations in it and selected interactive lesson but some variations keep getting repeated instead of showing new variations. Please fix this

That's the nature of randomness, I am afraid. I will check it out to see there is no regression, but I don't think it's a recent bug.

is there any way you could make it in such a way so that as long as I dont close the study My progress can be tracked and variations can't be repeated, This way it would be helpful to study openings and all, Thanks

There is already such a feature. It's WIP. But you have to finish a variation successfully to move to the next one.

Don't use the Spaced Repetition one, that's very basic and buggy.

In fact, you could use it, together with Sequential, as a way to randomly choose a variation instead of taking them in order. See what you like.

Thanks, but they wont get repeated right?

  1. Can you remove the feature that you have to do a variation 100% succesfully in order to go to the next one in sequential? because I have some lines that are very long and sometimes I do a slip or make a mistake deep into the line and then I have to start all over again

  2. Instead of starting from the starting position after finishing a variation, Instead can you do something which allows to keep playing from the position where the variation started from and go to other variation or if there is no variation then to the other positions which have a variation in sequential order. I hope you understood because my english isnt that great. Thanks! other than that everything works fine

Yes, this is all in planning, but it's a work in progress thing and I am out of free time these days. Try Spaced Repetition by itself, then. That's the best I can do for now.

When I get working on it, I will contact you for an opinion on features, is that OK?
