feature: FEN editor and merge study

so you will paste a FEN in the FEN editor, and you will be able to make a merge study so if you click one button you go to the 1 one and the 2 one and exept for that the FEN editor will be just like the PGN editor

I don't understand very clearly what you want. A FEN Editor, is it like the Board Editor? (https://lichess.org/editor)
In lichess you can already paste the FEN when you create a study chapter, in the analysis and even in the search bar (which sends you to the analysis).

Help me understand what you mean, please.

What do you mean by "merge studies"?

Studies are made out of chapters. If you want to merge the content of their chapters, you just download the PGN for the study, put it in the PGN Editor, merge it, then create a new study/chapter with the result.

If you mean you want to take two studies and merge them so one of them will have the chapters from the other, that's already doable in normal Lichess, by downloading one study PGN, then pasting it when creating a chapter in the other.

Also, FEN is a description of a board position, it has nothing to do with studies. You can't "merge FENs" because you either have a position or you have another. You can't create a mix of two positions.

Sorry, you will have to be more clear.

oooh I get it ok yeah I did not think of the fact that FEN is a description of a board position, it has nothing to do with studies. You can't "merge FENs" because you either have a position or you have another. You can't create a mix of two positions

What did you think it was, just for curiosity. Not about position at all?

If about position. It would not be completely non-sense to want to be able to make the union of 2 FENs.

As long at there are no collisions, it might be ground for thinking about how certain features may combine.

like a good technical slide presentation with transparent layers being put back on demand per the presentation evolution, or the discussion participants questions or comments.. When we could use our hands directly on such things, it was easy to share otherwise difficult to box-in ideas, at first. One could pull out a marker on top of prepared or intended order to make new things during the event..

anyway. nostalgia.. it existed. now have to fit in the protruder expectations.. don't mind me..

back to topic... building blocks of chess problem. types of FEN building blocks.. Don't stop thinking like that, whatever you were trying to toy with by asking here. And if having words for it, please try here. I salute the shared reasoning flow. Sometimes one needs to put in words the thoughts to look back at them. And conversation are good stimulant to do so.

LT and TN is a good show of what imagination can do for us. Thanks for this discussion space by the way.
