Fun new features for v2.3.187 !

New features incoming!

There have been some bug fixes as well, the most notable being that Copy branch as PGN was not showing the move number of the first move if you started from a position where Black had to move first and now that's fixed.

Have fun!

New features incoming! - when playing puzzles, now you get to see the total points you won/loss per session (see https://siderite.dev/blog/lichess-tools---user-manual/#puzzleOptions) - you wanted chess*com pieces in Lichess? well, now you have them if you enable the chess*com pieces (see https://siderite.dev/blog/lichess-tools---user-manual/#extraPieceSets) - you can now cut %clk and %eval comments with PGN Editor (see the Cut functionality at https://siderite.dev/blog/lichess-tools---user-manual/#pgnEditor) - if you don't care about tags, clock times or server/local evaluation of moves in your PGN, you can now choose what you get from Copy branch as PGN or /copypgn (see https://siderite.dev/blog/lichess-tools---user-manual/#exportPGNoptions) There have been some bug fixes as well, the most notable being that Copy branch as PGN was not showing the move number of the first move if you started from a position where Black had to move first and now that's fixed. I do not know who you are and what is the deal with all this stuff you are doing but if it is all legit then you have done a great job.
I hope you are earning some money from this but I assume you are just passionate about chess.

I wanted to post that it would be nice to have an option to auto start analysis but I see you already added that option.

Chess com pieces option is a nice add. Thanks.

Some suggestions of things I would like to see on this site:

  1. I would like an option to use chess com sound too. The default one. Is that possible?

  2. Another thing I like on that site is the rating guess in the game review ( showing how you played as a 2100 rated player or 1500 etc. ) Would be a nice add on to this site too.

  3. Option to just click one time ( like on chesscom ) with a mouse to switch board sides instead of having to press F or click several times.

  4. Option to have "request computer analysis" somewhere on the side after the game is over. Because it is zoomed in I have to scroll down in order to press that button

  5. After the game is over in the option to learn from your mistakes the red arrows are very hard to see. so an option to have actually visible arrows would be nice.

Thanks for the details requirements, @WhatPawnToPush , although I think it should have been a new forum entry. Let's take them one by one.

  1. sounds are a whole different beast than pieces. Just so you understand, sounds are associated with something happening. I am sure there are things that happen on chess com that don't happen on Lichess, like that cheery celebration at the end of a game. And then someone will ask for me to implement THAT. Technically it's also a lot more difficult, if even possible. So I am afraid I am not going to do that.

  2. the rating guess comes from some statistical engine on the chess com server, as most of the game review features. I am limited to what you have on the browser, unless there is an API to give me server data. And Lichess doesn't calculate this. Sorry.

  3. I will add this to an issue. Sounds reasonable. The only problem is "real estate". A lot of stuff on a little page and adding another button to just flip the board will take some more space. We have to take mobile devices into consideration, too.

4 and 5 are other almost cosmetic changes. I will add them to the list.

Enjoy!

P.S. yes, I do this for fun. I don't receive or make any money from it and I don't wish to. This is me giving something back. Thanks again!

I raised an issue with Lichess about the faint red arrows. As for the buttons to flip the board and start analysis, it would help if you could paste a screenshot here, maybe with a suggestion of where on the screen you would like them to be.

Thanks!

New features incoming!

Great features! Lichess Analyses became even better! Thank you!

If someone outside this subforum does not know about free LiChess Tools, they have to be installed as an extension:

I think that items 3 and 4 would be nice additions as long as they aren't too difficult to implement.

@WhatPawnToPush and others, what do you think of this idea?

You mouse over the hamburger menu and it shows the two actions: flip and analyse. If you click on them, they do the action, if you click on the hamburger menu it works as before.

You mouse over the hamburger menu

I like it! This is a clever way to add functionality to the "hamburger". If needed, the hamburger can receive more action, too!
