Gameification

Hi Guys

David Solan has posted an excellent video on creating interactive training studies:

Hope you guys can give this video the thumbs up.

Now to make this feature better, I am thinking something which might be fun is to have gamification. Can we get a top 100 scorers leader board for how well we mastered the variations. I have this kind of thing on my ancient chess site for my interactive puzzle stuff. (Play...Puzzle books on Chessworld.net).

I think space invaders really took off when there was a leaderboard. I think this would really drive activity and involvement because chess players love leaderboards.

Maybe this is possible to add some more fun to it.

Cheers, K

It sounds swell, but unfortunately there is no server saved data related to what you are doing in an interactive lesson. The score at the end is purely informative and related to how many mistakes you made.

There was a player who asked me to let him know when he went through all the variations. I told him that the choice of what move comes next is probabilistic and I don't keep a record of where the user has been in the past. If you are unlucky, you can get the same variation many times in a rows. It's a dice throw.

So the answer is this is quite impossible without changing the entire design of the Interactive Lessons, from the server.
