Why lichess is not willing to add the newly released Stockfish 16.1 engine??
More than 42 hours are being over after i post about why not adding it and still there is no replies. Do you considered to add it? Or lichess is not allowing to do so?What's the problem with adding it.
This is the forum for Lichess Tools which is developed by a third party and has no direct affiliation with Lichess, so they wont be able to help you. You should post in Lichess's forums.
@RoadtoSGM, the only LiChess Tools feature related to changing engines is the one to force SF16 in Lichess even if you are using Brave, but it is still using the Stockfish engine that Lichess has on site. It's not adding its own.
That being said, the fact that Stockfish 16.1 is released doesn't mean a proper version for Javascript exists. It's not plug and play, so there is effort required from the developers to enable it for lichess.org. It took months from SF16 to appear as an option in Lichess after the release of that version and it's still not working 100% (see the Brave browser issue)
