The Candidates tournament 2024 will conclude on April 25, so I was thinking of having a bughouse tournament + meetup at that time since there will be wide chess interest then. Would anyone be interested in playing? We could play a tournament (with prizes) on the 26th and have a fun casual meetup on the weekend. I think it's a good opportunity to promote bughouse, so hopefully we can get many players willing to take part!

What numbers are needed to make it happen? I'll let people know next month at a couple of tournaments(1 board boring bughouse) When critical mass has been achieved, do we have an idea of location (Toronto has some size to it...and I can look for hotels :)
10 people would be the minimum. I hope that can be easy to achieve because there are quite a few Canadian bug players + there's the Candidates going on! The more the merrier. We'll follow a similar prize structure to: https://lichess.org/forum/team-lichess-bughouse/barcelona-international-bughouse-open-2023--september-1, so the more entries I get, the higher the prizes. Would be happy to coordinate with you re: logistics!
