Yes, I wrote an article on it a while back. It's on my site and I've even hosted multiple RK1440 tournaments in years past. There will be another RK1440 tournament hosted some time in 2025 as well.

No, the algorithm for it was created by ProgramFox. I did invent, or rather, discover the 528 additional positions outside of the 1440 positions for it and create that algorithm. However, those 528 positions aren't playable anywhere at this time.

I'm assuming Pychess Shields, much like the Lichess ones, will be a monthly affair? In that case, since Lichess Shields are the 1st week (standard chess time controls) and 3rd week (variants) of each month, it would make sense to put Pychess Shields on the 2nd week of each month, with fixed weekdays / times for each variant.

Let me know if that's how it'll work, or if you had something else in mind :-)
