Survey: New type of Tournament

Hello everyone.

We are thinking of a tournament where matches would have games in multiple time controls. What are your thoughts on this?

This is just a rough idea. Let us not jump to any conclusions before testing it out first.

Also, the slot right after ACWC has LAWC.

I think there are way too many tournaments as it is. And Most if not all of them are sponsored by @bwmtone if Im not mistaken. Once there are more sponsors it might be a good idea to have a variety of more turneys but as things stand id say its better to narrow down the tournaments to Rapid, Blitz and Bullet, In Antichess any tc above 2 minutes can be considered Rapid, any above 1 min blitz. 1 min and below would be bullet.

I agree with IVI, bmwtone is sponsoring too many tournments and I don't feel like we should keep pushing it, the monetary tournments should be limited untill we have more sponsors

We are trying this format out in the council to test out various possibilities and will post details about potential problems soon.

Also, one more player (preferably 2200+) is required to test the format out. Please only volunteer if you are actually going to play the games (maximum of 5 matches in the next 4 weeks). Please message me if you are interested (don't post that on this forum).

We already have many tournaments that take way too many time due to the infinite number of rounds. I don't see the point of adding this one

Can we stop doing 2200+ and instead to 2200-

Last year, ACWC960 was a debacle. This year, that probably won't happen and this tournament can take up that slot. But enough about the timing details and etc; I just want to know what people think about this format.
