The Irresistible Lure: A deadly capture you need to know about! (Attraction)
Why chase when you can lure? Attraction is the sneaky chess tactic that pulls an enemy piece right where you want it – usually to its doom! Learn how to create irresistible traps and deliver knockout blows. Your opponents won't know what hit them!Ever been stuck in a game where your opponent's pieces are just too cozy? They're all huddled together, perfectly defended, basically hiding out like awkward guests at a party. You try to create threats, you poke, you prod, but nothing budges. That feeling of hitting a solid brick wall? Totally frustrating.
But here’s the game-changer: What if you could flip the script and make those pieces want to move straight into the line of fire? Forget forcing them; let's talk about pure, undeniable magnetism!
Welcome to the dazzling world of Attraction. This isn't just a tactic; it's tactical poetry. It involves making a calculated, sacrificial move—giving up a piece or making a seemingly "terrible" trade—just to lure an enemy piece (often their King!) onto a square you've designated as a trap. Why the sacrifice? Because that square is the crucial first step into a meticulously planned combination that delivers checkmate, a massive material win, or an overwhelmingly dominant position.
Think of it like being a master chess psychologist. You’re not just moving wood; you’re casting the perfect, irresistible bait to hook a prize fish. Or maybe you're the mischievous host leading your unsuspecting guest right into the middle of the best surprise party ever! It demands a touch of courage, keen foresight, and a generous dose of tactical genius. So, buckle up—because today, we’re going to unlock your inner chess siren and learn exactly how to charm your opponent's pieces onto a square they'll instantly regret stepping on.
Example 1

White to move. This stunning combination will surely keep you hooked for a while. Believe it or not, it's actually mate in 2! Try to solve it, and if you don't know how to, that's perfectly fine! Then this blog post is definitely just for you!
If you thought of Qxg6, you are correct!! Now, you must focus on sharpening your axe with the next few puzzles, and you'll master this beautiful tactic.
If you couldn't find it, don't be discouraged. You have to learn, and I bet this blog will be the perfect improvement material for you.
1. Qxg6, luring the King. The Black King has no choice but to capture the Queen and invite checkmate in one.
Kxg6
2. Find the mate! A beautiful Be4, suffocating the king with his own pieces in his own territory.
From this, we see how going into the opponent's territory, playing forcing moves and counter-attacking can lead to a spectacular win like this!
Example 2

White to move again. I bet this one will give you a good brain teaser! Try and solve it, if you can!
The answer is stunning, jaw-dropping, shocking, I have no words for this kind of combination!!
1. Rh7!! A beautiful lure
Kxh7
2. Bxg8+ This move is a check, and captures the defender of the queen. Now, there is no piece defending the Queen. It is hanging. We had to sacrifice the Rook first, because otherwise, the move Bxg8+ wouldn't have been a check, and we would have left our Queen hanging.
Rxg8
3. Qxe7+, capturing the Queen. it is now a Queen versus Knight endgame, which is hopeless for black.
Example 3 - Last one!

Black to move.
This, I would say, is not as hard as Example 2.
Think about this puzzle for a while.
Rxf4 - A totally abrupt tactic that will give your opponent a shock. This move attracts your opponent to take the rook and get mated... Just like some of you get attracted to a bag of chips! :D
Kxf4,
Qf2+,
Kg5,
h6+, further attracting the King to mate on the next move.
Qh4# - A beautiful mate!
