The line that you recommend for white, I have heard it called the Hector variation, is very new and the best methods of counterplay might not yet be well known. If I were to make a bet, it would not be on this line being regarded as especially for white in two or three years time.
The idea of sacrificing the d-pawn and play with a3,b4 and b5(at some point) has been seen in a computer game played by Stoofvlees vs Ethereal (I don't remember which game, but I'll find it).
This plan was also an argument and a point that I could identify in the MVL game.
I don't know if it's called with the name you are calling it to be honest.

The title is objectivly wrong, the french is in great theoratical shape 5 years ago it was far more fitting to call it unplayable but engines solved black problems since then. The variation you gave is of course a good one, but nothing which can shake the fact that black has full equality if he doesnt blunder
Theoretically sure, but practically, within good hands, I mind it's isn't.

With due regards, My highness you are wrong. The only defence you can trust blindly is actually a French Defense, if you know properly how to defense skillfully as well as to attack your enemy simaltenously. Thank you.

Lets relax and agree that everyone makes mistakes

My young Padawan I beg to differ.
I have uploaded the game seen in the video
https://lichess.org/DWTKNVAD#0
Clearly Bizon1 does not know how to play the French and White played almost perfectly. You need more than one "old" MVL game to convince me/us.
Check the games where the French was played by 2500+ plus players in a decent opening database.
Good Luck!

Alright, no one read the article properly.
Practically, it's though without the engine to play this position with the black pieces.
In a perfect world, everyone knows the theory until the move 25 and then plays 40 moves like the engine, sadly it's practically impossible/rare.
Funny.
