It's a flop idea.

You are a member of 29 teams. Would you care to elaborate?

It hardly matters if you are member or not.
Chess is not a team sport but solo one.

Did you read the blog? For a lot of people it seems, being a member of a team makes a big difference to their online chess experience. I'm wondering why you are a member of so many teams if they are such a waste of time? Maybe you just didn't find a good team yet?

Bundesliga disagrees... And while an individual game of chess is indeed an individual pursuit, it also works as a team sport in my opinion

As a late comer to organised chess Teams/games/tournaments. I have found being part of a team, and in my case THINK. it has been helpful and encouraging, getting to know the team leaders at the start and being to be made welcome. And also the opportunity to become involved with games and tournaments.

I agree. I like to play rapid time controls with increment and apart from random-seeks, it simply appeared the lichess did not cater for us at all with all the arenas, including the rapid one, having no increment.

Having found that there are arenas that happen in team tournaments with increment, it has improved my experience on this site.

Lichess still fails in making this public knowledge enough, so I'm sure we'd get even more people playing in these arenas if they were made more public. And lichess doesn't allow teams to advertise in main forums.

From my early years of playing chess I used to play for my school, where we had 6 boards with board 1 being the strongest player and board 6 the weakest. And at the age of 12 I got to play for board 1 in the juniors.

Later on I played for a chess club in a similar format, and then University of London, and also played for the BBC in a couple of matches at the age of 45.

All of these were played at classic time control.

Thanks for your comment @earlpurple. If I can raise awareness that these sorts of teams exist and you can find some nice rapid with increment like in Harvey's Chess Pub and ILS-Rapid Team, (both run excellently by @out-of-mind) then I have gone some way towards achieving my goal.

I would never have found the Think community if it wasn't suggested to me by a friend.
A search function would be a good step in the right direction, where teams can advertise themselves based on their interests.
