I think a lot of players who are way below your FM level, know exactly what they need to study to become better players.
The issue is that it takes effort, and for some it will take more effort than for others.
When I look at myself, I know what the good books are that I need to study. I even own them. But actually going through them once or more times requires effort, motivation, time, .. it's hard work that requires discipline.
Don't we all own a lot of chessbooks that serve as decoration instead of study material?
Somehow owning a chessbook gives comfort. We CAN study it if we want, but what do we do? We log on to Lichess and play a couple blitz and bullet games and call it a day.
