Getting Good in Games is a result of Motivation.
If someone gets motivated doing weird stuff, this gets problematic.
Some people for example are only able to play chess if they get drunk. Drunken they forget that chess in it's essence is useless.
Players with lower rating try to keep a sane mind.
It's the same problem as in school. The Freaks loose their Mind, and get owned by the teacher. Therefore they get the good grades. And the others got to suffer.
In Nature the one who gets eaten by the Predator becomes the Predator.
In order to keep the Predator out, we got to Defend against the Mutation that tansforms the Victim into the Vampire. Cause the Victim gives the Vampire all the Knowledge , how to keep on exploiting.
Thats why the Sane people get social and try to compete in Chess or School.
Cause the Sane Mind gets Damaged if People Freak out.
I hope this Comment is not producing Vampires, cause People Freak out over it. Like these Chess Pros who accidently get mated by 1600 rated Players.
So stay Calm and keep on Loosing in order to keep Sane. Trap the Madmen in their Bubble of Vein.
just wondering is the rating 1600 OTB (such as fide) or 1600 online
also does anyone know how to convert rating effectively between lichess.org chess.com and FIDE as I am wondering what my strength is thanks :)
The article makes a good point. I would really advise against taking those online ratings too seriously. Every platform has its own rating system anyway, and it doesn't really amount to anything.
If you want to do something for chess, then go ahead. But do it for your own sake, not because of an online rating.
