I'd be curious to know why lichess supports Ukraine (which is politics and shouldn't be on this site) but didn't say a word for Palestine.
You may be curious what MSF does...

getting names right in these cases is important, given the seriousness of the allegations
I am not the whole of lichess, just one small part and not even a part of the department you have taken issue with
you can believe what you want, but I won't necessarily agree with you
well, maybe don't reply to me and make that kind of statement if it can be ambiguous , maybe if you mean "lichess" and not me, you should say that and be explicit
I mean, if lovlas saw that you were speaking on his behalf about who he does or doesn't like, I don't know what he would think about it, maybe leave that to him to say
Also, you have completely hijacked this topic and made it about you.
This lichess blog is about an upcoming fundraiser to raise money for MSF to help people in desperate need.
I don't see how anyone could be against helping people.
I know you are not part of the anticheating. A reason more to not suspect of you.
Sorry for the misunderstanding about lovlas, english isn't my native language.
About lovlas, I didn't say anything he didn't state publicly (look at his profile).
About me going off-topic you're right. I got carried away and changed topics way too easily (especially with the two en-passant messages).
I'm not against helping people, I just think lichess should be about chess and nothing else. It's becoming political.
I add that people in trouble are everywhere and if you wanna help you can easily find people in need in your town, without giving your money to who-knows-who.

MSF helps Palestine (among others), so what? Doesn't change the fact lichess didn't say a word about Palestine.

Good luck with the fundraiser! Doctors without borders is a great cause.

To me it doesn't look appropriate to ADVERTISE (let's call stuff with its name) here, especially in a site which claims to be "no-profit, ads free etc. etc.". Even worse, it's not even about chess. And it's not even the first time lichess advertises someone. For example, I wonder why this guy @TheOnoZone keeps getting on the first page every time he publishes something. He is at a weak amateur level, but he sells lessons for $50/hour, basically how much an IM would ask. Of course he has the right to do that, but why does lichess advertise him? With another account, in the forum, I criticized lichess for advertising him and soon after (coincidence?) I got a red mark on my account despite never having violated ToS. Let's see how long this comment stays (or how long before this account gets banned/muted as well).
If people want to pay $50 an hour, then that's on them. I'm sure they have their reasons, and I don't think complaining about it helps anybody. Blogs allow advertising, and advertising to help fundraise for charities is a noble enough goal, I would think. There is nothing wrong with what Lichess is doing here.
Another time they even took position about two GMs accused of sexual misconduct lichess.org/@/lichess/blog/breaking-the-silence/ZNTniBEA, which I believe should NOT be up to lichess. I hope they were innocent and sued lichess.
It's not unnatural for chess organizations to take a stance on things. Particularly big controversies.
Lichess is apolitical, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't speak out on certain issues (just that you are more likely to see help arrive to everyone, instead of just siding with a small group, i.e the fundraising effort for everyone in need in both Israel and Palestine a while ago.)
When there is an issue that Lichess thinks it should care about, it will talk about it. If you don't like that...then avoid blogs, because that's just kinda what Lichess does. Is there anything wrong really with supporting medical care to countries that need it?

There's a ton of blogs, but only some are ADVERTISED in the homepage.
Titled players get priority for advertising on the homepage, as well as all Lichess blogs, because these tend to be written about relevant things and have the most use to the rest of us.
But, everybody (including titled players and even Lichess) has to get through the algorithm. The algorithm figures out what blogs are getting lots of views and hearts and promotes them on the homepage. It's an automatic algorithm.

@QueenRosieMary En passant (again): I'd be curious to know why lichess supports Ukraine (which is politics and shouldn't be on this site) but didn't say a word for Palestine. I guess it has nothing to do with the fact Ukraine is ally of France and Palestine isn't.
Fun fact: Doctors without Borders has been active in Gaza for over 35 years

Good luck with the fundraiser! Doctors without borders is a great cause.
I work in the humanitarian sector (what's left of it anyway after DOGE). MSF is the gold standard, and do amazing work. I love this campaign. I really don't get some of the weird comments. MSF is 100% neutral and work in the some of the most dangerous places on earth and have tiny salaries compared to other NGOs. Good job Lichess.

I don't think I'll be able to give much (if I give anything it'll just be chipping in), but good job and thank you lichess for standing up for what's right. MSF have done a lot of great things all around the globe, and considering what is currently ongoing in Palestine, they offer an enormous relief to many both in Cisjordan and Gaza. Much respect to Thibault and the lichess team for this (and all who donate).
