Really wish this article had come out with more delay than what it had. Every Lichess user has this on our home page right now, and many people have not had the opportunity to view the game yet due to time zone differences. If nothing else, it's really shortsighted to spoil the game's results in the title.
ngl gukesh kinda deserved it. I mean first gukesh was making mistakes but usually they were chaotic games. but a lot of the WCC games were gukesh better then he messed up and gave away the advantage. So nice that he got this WCC as a victory :)

I also hope that Ding Liren keeps playing chess at the highest levels for as long as he can. He made a blunder, but he is human. He and Gukesh are light years ahead of me. I don't feel it's my place to criticize such great players. I can understand the disappointment many people certainly felt when Ding lost...

To be a Chinese and Ding's fan, I am sadly when I knew Ding lost the game 14. Before the game I hoped Ding could win the game and maintain his Champion title. But everything is different now. I thought deeply all of night. Now I have accepted the trust. The world need I powerful Chess Champion. Maybe it is Gukesh, but not Ding. Ding is so tired and he need have a rest. He gave us the wonderful London system and the French defense. Coupled with his legendary story, Ding has left a strong mark on the world of chess. I believe he can come out of the darkness and do better in the next few years than he is now.
