it was not a vacation but a weekend of work and meetings if you read the article. they discussed the projects on the site.

Your money? I don’t see any patron wings on your account ;)
And as a patron, I think meetups like this are very important for good site development. In person coding sessions can be some of the most productive ones you can think of. Also, even if they didn’t work on the site at all during this “vacation”, I think that it’s important that the members of a company that are responsible for developing a site we all know and love know each other and are on the same page when it comes to vision.
So lichess team, i say good on you!
