Felt that blunder in my bones. You dominate the whole middlegame and one blind spot ruins the party. Keep your head up!

the "blunder" wasnt that bad , and it did not cost me the game if thats what you mean Bild 14.10.26 um 18.52.png

"i do alot of puzzles (1900-2000) but still often miss tactics in games"

  • How much time do you spend solving a puzzle?
How much time do you spend on a move in a game?
"i do alot of puzzles (1900-2000) but still often miss tactics in games" * How much time do you spend solving a puzzle? How much time do you spend on a move in a game?

5-7 min , if i do it quicker with a bit intuition then i usually fail at the puzzle ( i lost many puzzles like that )

if i see that its a complex position with tactics then 1-3 min , if not then under a minute

  • That explains it. In a game you should use more time per move than to solve a puzzle.
In a game you do not know if there is a tactic, or for whom, so you have to assume there is one until you have ascertained yourself there is none.
    Play a slower time control.

Here is an example:

https://lichess.org/dwmAks4m/black#37

You play the blunder Bxa3?? and miss the double attack Qa4.
You still had 13 minutes in this 15+10 game to find the winning Bc5.
If you are winning, and you have 13 minutes, then spend 1-3 min or 5-7 min on a move.

"classic chess is too boring"

  • And 5-7 minutes on 1 puzzle is not boring?
